Patricia Brown
Licensed Lawyer


Patricia Brown is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan, and the Province of Ontario Canada. She practices in the areas of Criminal Defense; Mental Health; and Immigration Law. She also represents clients before the Ontario Court of Justice; Superior Court of Justice; The Court of Appeals for Ontario; Provincial Offences Court; the Supreme Court of Canada; the Immigration Refugee Board of Canada; The Consent and Capacity Board and the Ontario Review Board.

Patricia Brown completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Windsor. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Social Relations, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She completed her law degree at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate in Law.

Patricia Brown became a licensed lawyer in the State of Michigan, and was called to the bar in Ontario.

Amara McLaughlin-Harris
Junior Associate Lawyer


Amara graduated from the University of King's College Halifax with a Bachelor of Arts in English and German, First Class Honours. She received several scholarships and awards for academic excellence, including the Paul MacIsaac Memorial Prize. Amara went on to complete her law degree at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she did fellowships in civil and forensic mental health law with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and the Law and Mental Disorder Association. While in law school, she also completed an externship with Health Law Innovation and Policy Lab at Mount Sinai Hospital and was awarded unique best student in Public Health Law.

Amara has worked at legal clinics, including West Toronto Community Legal Services and as student-at-law at the Huron Perth Community Legal Clinic in Stratford, Ontario. She is interested in advocacy concerning Charter and human rights in civil and criminal law, particularly from a social determinants of health perspective.

Amara is licensed to practice law in the province of Ontario. She is also a notary public. She currently practices criminal and mental health law.





Alyxis Watson
Junior Associate Lawyer


Alyxis Watson is a Junior Associate Lawyer with the Law Office of Patricia Brown, practicing in Criminal Defence and Mental Health Law.

Miss Watson is licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario.

Alyxis completed her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology at Nipissing University, graduating as Valedictorian.

She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law.

Alyxis completed a judicial internship with the Supreme Court of the Northwest Territories in Yellowknife where she worked closely with the judiciary on criminal matters, gaining valuable insight into judicial reasoning and the importance of thorough defence advocacy.

She articled with the Law Office of Patricia Brown and now practices as a Junior Associate with a strong focus on protecting the rights and interests of individuals facing criminal prosecution.
