Licensed Lawyer

Patricia Brown is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan, and the Province of Ontario Canada. She practices in the areas of Criminal Defence; Mental Health; and Immigration Law. She also represents clients before the Ontario Court of Justice; Superior Court of Justice; The Court of Appeals for Ontario; Provincial Offences Court; the Supreme Court of Canada; the Immigration Refugee Board of Canada; The Consent and Capacity Board and the Ontario Review Board.

Patricia Brown completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Windsor. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Social Relations, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She completed her law degree at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate in Law.

Patricia Brown became a licensed lawyer in the State of Michigan, and was called to the bar in Ontario.

Alyssa Jervis

Associate Lawyer

Alyssa completed her Bachelor of Arts and Master’s of Arts degrees at the University of Guelph in English Language and Literature, where she graduated summa cum laude. Alyssa later completed her law degree at the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Law, graduating with a Special Designation in Criminal Law and recognition for her work at Community Legal Services and with Pro Bono Students Canada.

Alyssa was chosen to complete a Debwewin Internship with the Ministry of the Attorney General’s Indigenous Justice Division in 2018. This experience sparked a particular interest in work engaging with the systemic racial injustices in Canadian law. Alyssa also has a strong interest in wrongful convictions work.

Alyssa is licensed to practise law in the Province of Ontario, Canada. She practices in the areas of Criminal Defence, Mental Health, Human Rights, and Indigenous law. Alyssa has worked with a wide range of clients on criminal, quasi-criminal, and administrative matters proceeding before the Ontario Court of Justice; Superior Court of Justice; and The Ontario Court of Appeals.

Monique Jewell

Paralegal

Monique Jewell is a licensed Paralegal (P1) in Ontario and a Notary Public working with the firm. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Carleton University and brings over seven years of experience in the legal field, having worked extensively in administrative and client-facing roles prior to obtaining her paralegal licence.

Monique regularly appears before the Ontario Court of Justice on behalf of the firm, with a practice focus which includes Provincial Offences Act matters, criminal offences, and mental health law. Her background has provided her with a strong understanding of court procedures, client advocacy, and the importance of compassionate, detail-oriented legal support.

Fluent in both English and French, Monique is able to assist a diverse range of clients and is committed to providing clear, supportive, and professional service throughout the legal process.
